Dhaka municipality authority renames 210 roads in the city to Islamic names. Lalmohon Podder Road is renamed Abdur Karim Gaznabi Road, Haricharan Road became Mohammad Bin Kashem Road. Similarly Shakhari Bazar became Gulbadan, Kishan Banerjee became Alibordi, Nabeen Chand became Bakhtiar Khilji, and Kalicharan Road became Gazi Salauddin Road.

- A group of Pakistan soldiers are ambushed by the freedom fighters when they were advancing towards Chouddogram from Comilla via Naya Bazar. There are 30 casualties among the Pakistan soldiers in this operation and their advance is disrupted and they had to retreat.
- In Gopalganj, Pakistan forces attack Muktibahini’s Chalbal base from three directions- Madaripur, Gopalganj, and Tekerhat. The Pakistan soldiers entered the Ramshil village near the camp of the freedom fighters and advanced towards Basail village under Gournadi Police Station. On their way, Pakistan soldiers engaged into a fierce battle with the Hemayet Bahini near Bandabari canal. After a long battle the Pakistan soldiers are forced to retreat. Freedom fighter Mokbul became a martyr in this battle and Hemayet became injured. On the other hand, more than 50 Pakistan soldiers are killed in this battle and 18 are held by the freedom fighters. After this battle the freedom fighters shifted their base to Kodaldhowa village.
