Accreditation and Affiliations

The Liberation War Museum is a founder member of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience founded in 1998 (www.sitesofconscience.org). The Coalition endeavours to link historic sites with contemporary pressing social and human right issues. Members of the Coalition include The District Six Museum of the apartheid period in South Africa, Slave Museum in Senegal, Jewish resettlement and concentration camp in Terezin, Czekoslovakia, Civil Rights Museum commemorating the Civil Rights Movement of Martin Luther King Jr. and the Tenement Museum on early immigrants in the United States. It is registered with the NGO Bureau in Bangladesh.

The Liberation War Museum is also an Institutional Member at the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS). The International Association of Genocide Scholars is a global, interdisciplinary, non-partisan organization that seeks to further research and teaching genocide studies and prevention.

The Muktijuddha Smriti Trust, under which the Museum has been established, is registered under the Societies Act XXI, of 1860 as a non-profit organization and is also registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Bangladesh. All contributions made to the Muktijuddha Jadughar come under the CSR program launched by the Government and has been declared as tax-free.
