• Freedom fighters led by Major Absar Uddin Ahmed make sudden attack on Mallikbari Pakistan militia camp. At least 16 Pakistan soldiers are killed and some others sustained injuries in the attack.

 

• A team of freedom fighters in line with the direction of Lt Mahbubur attack a Rajakar camp at Chhatura in Comilla. At least 16 Pakistani soldiers are killed and four others injured in the attack.

 

• An ambush team led by Lt Garus detains six collaborators of Pakistani government and seizes huge arms.

 

• A guerilla team of Muktibahini explodes bombs at a train boarding Pakistani soldiers. At least 30 to 35 policemen are killed as three compartments of the train derailed in the attack.

 

• Chief election commissioner Justice Abdus Sattar returns to Dhaka from Islamabad.

 

• In Comilla, Lt Gen Tikka Khan says, “We want peace but India instigating agitation in the border areas.”

 

• The members of Peace Committee, under leadership of Mobarak Hossain, gather at Islampur where they decided to form Rajakar force with 25 members from each Peace Committee.
