  • Newly appointed Pakistan president Bhutto tells foreign journalists during a dinner party in Rawalpindi that Sheikh Mujib is still imprisoned, soon he would be released and kept under house arrest.

 

  • Pakistani ambassador in Poland Abul Bashirul Alam shows loyalty to Bangladesh government. He hoists Bangladeshi flag in front of several dozens of Polish journalists.

 

  • Newly independent Bangladesh experiences almost 2 crore refugees inside the boundary. The total number of refugees including those in India, is around three crore, reports of British NGOs says.

 

  • Commander of Chief of Muktibahini, Colonel MAG Osmani reaches Dhaka.
