Pakistan President Yahya Khan in an interview with the New York Times says that he could consider release of illegal Awami League party head Sheikh Mujibur Rahman if the nation wants.Yahya said that he did not want to worsen the situation. But there would be war if India continued to provide assistance with arms to the miscreants (freedom fighters), he tells the New York Times.

- Two Pak army soldiers are killed and five injured in an ambush carried out by Mukti Bahini at 2 No. sector.
- Mukti Bahini ambush a group of Pak army soldiers at Noapara of Jessore district. Six army members are killed and four hurt in the ambush and freedom fighters return safely to their place.
- Freedom fighters from Sylhet air forces with Indian allied force attack on Pakistani BOP and a factory in Sylhet. In the attack, two members of 30 Frontier Force Regiment of Pakistani army are killed and many of them injured.
- Two Pakistani army members are killed and three others injured when Mukti Bahini fighters ambushed in Kahur area at 2 no. sector.
- A Pak soldier is killed in a mine explosion carried out by the Mukti Bahini on Birishiri-Bijoypur road in Mymensingh.
