• Pakistan admits that since March 25, four CSP and an EPS official were killed in different parts of the province: Kushtia DC Nasim Waqar Ahmed on March 31, Chuadanga SDO Mohammad Iqbal on April 15, Naogaon SDO Mohammad Nisarul Hamid on April 16, Sirajganj SDO AK Shamsuddin on May 20 and Jessore sub-Judge Mozaffar Hossain (EPS) on September 3.

 

• Three Peace Committee members are killed as Muktibahini guerrilla attack a meeting at Basabo in Dhaka.

 

• Pakistan is ready to talk with India to reach to a solution about East Pakistan, says Ibrahim Khan, administrator of independent Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) and special envoy to Yahya Khan in Tunis.

 

• Muktibahini successfully destroy Satkhira power plant.

 

• Two officials of West Germany consulate in Dhaka are killed in a land mine explosion at Sonargaon in Narayanganj. Another strong bomb explosion at the dockyard on the bank of Shitalakkhya River.
