• A flight of Indian Air Force carrying seven members of the provisional government of Bangladesh including Syed Nazrul Islam landsin Dhaka airport. They receive huge reception. Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad in the airport urges the people to imply the ideals of democracy, secularism and socialism to reconstruct the war-torn country.

 

• Indian army start to investigate the genocide by the Pakistani army in Bangladesh. Among the accused they found a general, a brigadier, three colonels, two majors and a captain. And another list is made including 12 other names.

 

• Sheikh Mujib freed from jail but kept under house arrest, a government announcement in Rawalpindi says.

 

• Pakistan president Bhutto says that he would go to visit China shortly.
